Additional Therapies

Counselling – or ‘talking therapy’
This means talking through current issues and problems, exploring, gaining insight, developing an understanding of the self, belief systems and behaviours with a view to making any necessary changes that will bring about a sense of well-being and increase self-worth. Dreams often pop up as part of this process, but if they don’t, talking through issues can nevertheless be very beneficial.

Hypnotherapy

I no longer use hypnotherapy in the traditional sense, so if you are looking to stop smoking or lose weight for example, and don’t feel the need to explore the underlying reasons for these issues, then I am not the therapist for you (but can refer you to someone else if you wish). I do however, use some of the skills and techniques from my clinical hypnotherapy practice and training in my work. Not surprisingly, they lead me back to dream work – guided imagery for example, ‘day-dreams’ can be used just as effectively as those that occur when we are asleep. Turning the attention inwards, as required in hypnotherapy, can produce symbols and insights that aid healing.

Past Life Regression Therapy

You don’t actually have to believe in re-incarnation for this to work. The mind, as with dreams, produces information that is unique and potentially therapeutic for each individual. Past life regression is fascinating and often the lives that are re-experienced provide information that relate directly to current life issues. This method often has a spiritual dimension too, aiding spiritual growth.

Reiki

I like to connect with my clients on every level and incorporate Reiki energy into all aspects of my work. I have found that invoking healing energy aids in creating a safe, therapeutic  space.
